Official Delta B737-700/800/900 Mods Thread
As DL is installing Satalite TV and Scimitar Winglets on B739s and PTVs on B738s. Here's a wiki to keep track of those changes!

I thought all of the 739s had the 'split' scimitar winglets from the start?
Nice to see the 738s all getting TV. I was worried when I saw this thread that it would be another instance of DL retrofitting the cabin to 'ultra-slimline' paper-thin seats to squish more pax in

They're delivered with the usual blended winglets and some newer B739s are going straight into mods.

DL.com doesn't always show the Sat TV immediately after the mods (same with the 738 upgrades), but the 739's are supposed to be getting Sat TV prior to entering service.
The first 33 739s, which don't have Scimitars or Sat TV, should be going back at some point for those mods.

Correct. Straight from the factory to TechOps.

And for the 738s, are they going to update these to the slimline seats with new AVOD a la the 739s and 75Ys? Or are they going to keep the regular 738 F seats and add the older AVOD?

From DL's announcement last year, it seems that the seats will be the same as the existing 73Hs. Aircraft gettings mods will get updated lavs and LED cabin lighting.

I just flew on 3709 this past weekend and can confirm it has the new TVs like the 739 - not the old small ones like the 73H and 75X. Also, the bulkhead behind FC was removed so now row 10 has tons of legroom. Overall a really nice upgrade and a pleasant surprise on the route I was flying (delta.com showed 738 with no TVs). The satellite TV was working as well as the wifi. One thing that surprised me was that it didn't have the new seat covers for Comfort + or First Class - that must be a later installation.

And...actually yeah, I'm surprised they don't have th new seat covers as well. With an average mod time of over a month, that is a LOT of downtime, you think they'd just do the seats as well. Especially since they went to the trouble of installing the new AVOD.
Two more questions:
Will the 737-800s that currently have AVOD eventuall get the retrofit (new seats, lights, avod) as well as a soft bulkhead? Or will they remain? If not, that makes the Russian roulette even more risky.
And when you say the same seat as the 73H... All the -800s I've been on in F have the typical blue and grey seat that's plusher/thicker than the newer F seats (like the 739). So they're just keep those seats, but making the hole bigger for the new PTVs? I think I like the older seats more than the new ones.

Great, these answered pretty much all my questions. I am relieved that the soft bulkhead is actually happening, although it will be a serious Russian roulette if youre playing the row 10 game (i.e. pick a non-aisle Comfort+ seat and worry about restricted foot room).

1) I think they'll eventually fix to B73H, but now they're just focusing on eliminating Overhead Tv's.
2) The newly modded B738's will have the new B739 seats.
Hope this helped!
