Lightbulb Has Delta Canceled LAX-London Heathrow nonstop on its own metal?

Can't seem to buy the flight anymore today for late 2015 / early 2016. Perhaps a schedule change in process?

I'm not seeing it either.

I can't imagine that Delta would just drop that route. It is probably an IT glitch or schedule change.

It could be a victim of seasonality, where only the VS-operated flight is maintained through the winter. It may be a rebalancing of joint venture flight operations, where VS operates both LAX departures and DL picks up something else.

Or, as suggested, it may just be a brief schedule-load hiccup.

I would attribute it to the JV with VS. The capacity might not be needed in low season.

I wouldn't be surprised if it the capacity for 2 flights aren't needed for the low season and come Sunday morning there will be one flight between DL/VS and maybe they upgauge the plane.

looks to be gone - I am looking at late October - checking on ExpertFlyer under VS code and all the DL-operated flights are zeroed-out

VS will operate 2 x daily over the winter period. VS7 & VS23.

Last year the VS23 was dropped in the winter in favour of the DL flight and reinstated for the peak summer... however for winter this year the DL flight will be dropped and the VS23 remains.

The DL LHR-EWR flight is also dropped from October.
