I noticed self-serve drinks to-day in ORD; I about fell over and I was stone cold sober There was also some nice cold salads: a green arugula salad, potato salad and a pickled vegetable dish that looked decent. On a Friday afternoon, I certainly wouldn't mind some extra time in the SkyClub at ORD or DTW.

Had some good mac and cheese in the SEA SC. I recall it was a recipe from a local restaurant.

But the question is... Was the macaroni made with real or fake cheese?

Unless you're going to do all sorts of tricks with starch, etc., real cheese generally isn't so great at being melty, and it's even worse at staying melty for long periods of time, so I'd cut them some slack.

However based on the graininess I'm putting my money on real cheese...

I was at the newish SFO club the other day and they had little bowls of Pho out on the counter. You grab a bowl and add the stock and condiments that are available. While not the best Pho ever, it was a nice variation to the standard stuff you see at most of the Sky Clubs. Oh, and they had the signs up about buying premium drinks with Skymiles.

It's Beecher's mac and cheese... I had it a week ago at the Seattle SC, it's ok -- similar to the stuff they sell downtown.

Real cheese. My stomach had a pretty violent reaction to lactose.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I was tired of the same soups and chicken salad in the SC, so today I decided to mix things up. I added chicken salad to the Wicked Tai Curry soup. It was actually pretty good. More creamy and a lot more chicken than usual.

I stopped by the SFO SkyClub late last night before catching a shuttle down to a LAX and a redeye home to MSP. The spread was good — including the salad, the aforementioned pho and the more usual SkyClub goodies. I really like what Delta is doing with the SkyClubs these days. See picture of the dinner spread I had, below.

Pho
Tomato bisque with croutons
Green leaf salad with oil and vinegar, asian noodle salad and cheese salad
And a bottle of cabernet.

Good, not great. The noodles were tasty, but the broth was a little heavy on the citrus. I didn't help that by adding my go-to amount of lime juice, but it was heavy on the citrus even before that, I thought.

+1

It was quite disappointing and, mind you, I don't set my expectations very high when it comes to Sky Club food. I would have preferred this:
