A quick "is it worth it" question!
Hey guys,
First post here! I just booked ATL-LAX-LIH for my girlfriend and me (main cabin). I'm thinking about upgrading to Comfort+ (specifically for the LIH-LAX leg) and just wanted to throw some things out there to see if it's really worth it. It appears my plane is a 757-200 (75H). According to SeatGuru, we're currently in a pretty good spot with 27E and 27F (see blue circle on seatmap image). http://i59.tinypic.com/2m6riww.jpg I am 6' tall -- so not huge, but not small either. Is this upgrade worth the $109? We'll both probably have a snack and couple alcoholic drinks a piece, but that alone would not justify the price. Thoughts? I appreciate it! |
"Worth" it is entirely subjective. What does $218 mean to you?
Me? I would take 16C and 17C and each have an aisle. The leg room will mean something for you. There is nothing about a wrap and some cheap booze which makes anything worthwhile. |

I appreciate it! is it 109 per head or both? i don't think i'd pay 218$, but maybe 109, depending what i already spend on the tickets. |
Thanks for the responses.
It's $109 each. I realize it's completely a subjective question, but my hope was that some experience and dialog would help formulate my decision. More specifically, I guess, our current seats already appear to have decent legroom because they're an exit aisle. So I guess the real question is, what is the legroom difference between my current seats and Comfort+ and is the seat any better, other hidden benefits, etc. over just staying in the main cabin? Thanks! |
Not worth the price; your selected seats already have extra legroom.
$109 buys a very nice meal in Lihue. |
My personal opinion is that you have some of the best coach seats in the plane with better legroom than most of Economy Comfort. Save the money, buy a couple of cocktails on the plane. Sleeping on the redeye in that seat is a breeze...lean against the window, have your SO lean on you.

This. Plus, as has already been mentioned, buy a drink or two on the plane, and bring a snack onboard from the terminal to hold you over until you can spend the money you just saved on a nice dinner.
OPS Thanks! |
Personally, the only seats that would be worth it for me would be 18 D & E which will have more leg room than any other seat on the plane (including first class) and will also take away the risk of sitting next to someone who is [insert whatever bothers you about other people on planes].
If those are open and you choose them, note that there is no under seat storage. Worth it for me. |

If it were me, I'd stick with the exit row, unless you need the MQD to make some status level (C+ seats qualify for MQD earnings). |
