Can my parent fly on Delta, but credit to miles to my AF/KLM FlyingBlue account?

My parent and I will be flying on Delta in the same reservation. So is it possible that I put my flyingblue number under my parent's frequent flyer account number in the reservation an credit the delta flight miles to my flyingblue account?

last name will match, but first name won't...

is this worth giving a try?

No, just cancelled.

If the names don't match, how in the world do you think this could work?

I was able to do it with a hotel loyalty program... my parents' hotel stay at marriott was credited to my skymiles account even though my parents stayed at a marriott but I did not (hotel booking was not under my name)... just wondering if the same would work for airlines program.

Anytime you do any of these things, you risk account audits and closure, especially if you do it repeatedly.

Then go for it, and see what happens. All you risk is 500 miles.

Alternatively, get your parents AS accounts and let them get some useful miles for themselves.

In addition to losing what's in the account, you risk being banned from participating in the FF program in the future.

Its easy to do at hotels IF you make the reservation in your name and put their names down as extra guests. Or buy multiple rooms, one for yourself and one for them. You can keep all the points from both rooms.

Some people report that hotels will not grant status benefits until you check in yourself, but IME, FD ppl are rarely that anal.

This has been my experience with Hilton, Hyatt, and IHG (You can get credit for other rooms you book for guests traveling with you).

With Marriott you can get points for the additional room; you can't get additional nights credit. Even if the other person pays for their room with a different credit card, you still get the points.

SPG gives you points/nights/stay credit for up to three rooms you pay for if you are staying in one of the rooms.

It's not going to be possible, even if you try.

The computer matches names and FF accounts.
It won't let you check in with the wrong number attached.

As Doc says, get them accounts... and then they can use the miles for you when they collect enough if they want.
