Creative Ways to use up 29K miles (w/o flying)
Seems even weekend trips to LAS requires more than 29k miles these days, and goods on their shopping site are very overpriced. Is there any other way to use up these miles before they expire?

Sky Mall, or any such, is almost always a bad deal. $0.01 per mile, and the prices suck.
Use them for a flight. You are AA Gold out of LAX (so you must fly some), there is no law you have to spend these miles on a flight to LAS.
Just bide your time and remember to check DL awards whenever you are buying a personal ticket. At some point, a good option will pop up.

You are likely searching for awards to close-in. DL generally requires a 3 week advance purchase to get the lowest mileage redemptions. You can do LAX-LAS or LAX-SEA for as low as 20K miles roundtrip. But you'll have to search for trips more than 3 weeks out. I see availability on LAX-SEA at the 20K level for the first 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) in June.
