A319 and A320 aircraft improvements
Delta's 57 A319 and 69 A320 aircraft have received complete interior updates including new seats in both First Class and Economy cabins with in-seat power throughout the aircraft. The aircraft have also received new space-saving galleys, new lavatories, new larger-capacity overhead bins with an average increase of 60 percent more carry-on baggage space, updated LED lighting systems and new cabin interiors. Updates to the A319 fleet have also included the installation of IFE, which was completed by the end of 2017.

The A319s have 12 First Class (F) seats with 36" of pitch and the A320s have 16 First Class (F) seats with 36" of pitch. Both fleets have 18 Comfort + (W) seats with 34" of pitch. All Economy seats (Y) on both aircraft types feature wider seats with a width increase from the current 17.2" to 18" for each seat: the A319s have 102 seats with 30"-31" of pitch, and the A320s have 123 seats with 31-32" of pitch.

The A320s had two phases of mods with the first as mentioned above (P1). A second phase of modifications involved installing IFE, removing three seats, and expanding the rear galley space (P2). This was completed by the end of 2018.

The A321ceo has 20 First Class (F) seats with 37" of pitch, 29 Comfort + (W) seats with 34" of pitch, and 142 Economy (Y) seats will have 30"-31" of pitch. Deliveries will continue until the end of 2023. Some aircraft also have F20W29Y140 and F2029WY143 configs. Eventually these will by changed to the aforementioned F20W29Y142 config. As of Oct 15 2019, all A321ceos now have the 191 seat configuration (F20W29Y142).

The A321neo will have 20 First Class (F) seats, 30 Comfort + (W) seats, and 147 Economy (Y) seats.

DL has begun the second phase of A320 mods and now aircraft are going through modification.

A320 Configurations
A32K (F16W18Y126): new seats in both cabins, new overhead bins, new carpet, new lavs.
A32M (F16W18Y123): removing 3 seats, additional rear galley space, AVOD all seats*.

8 aircraft got the cabin refurbishment all at once, including AVOD and the F16W18Y123 configuration.

Curious to know if the A320 improvements will include in-seat video with satellite similar to the A319's?
Also, what is being sacrificed in order to gain an extra F and Y row in the A320's and an extra Y row in the A319's?

From what I read no in-seat video to be added on the A320...

A319 is getting an extra row of Y due to space created from installing slimlines

A320 is getting an extra row of F and extra row of Y due to space created from installing slimlines, and installing Airbus Spaceflex, which
-relocates the Y lavs from forward of door 2, to aft of door 2
-reduces the aft galley from 7 trolleys to 2.5 trolleys

Weight and/or they plan to keep the A319 in service longer. NW had some of the earliest A320's off the line.

Think I read that some of the A319s would be used for long, thin routes; hence AVOD is more valuable on that fleet.

Wider seats in coach mean more narrow aisles. I wonder whether this will slow down the boarding and deplaning processes.

The screens for the 319s but not 320s is interesting to me. I've seen the 320s do as long of flights as SAN-ATL and the 319s on LIT-ATL. I realize those may be one-off exceptions, but that's the impression I've gotten on their dispatch so far anyway.

Good point.

As it is on some planes I feel as though the aisle is not wide enough for my standard carryon suitcase without bumping into seats or being in someone's personal space if they're in an aisle seat.

I flew on a 319 in January and was impressed with the overhead bin space, my suitcase went in no problem. Part of the reason why is because I was on an MD-90 beforehand.

So here's an observation. From watching animation about spaceflex, it appears that the new final row in the 320 will not have a window. At best it might be a partial view of a window by the shoulder of the person in the row in front. I don't know the exact width of a removed A320 lav fwd of door 2, but as far as I know there's no window in that last hull frame.

I hope to never be stuck in the last row of any aircraft, but IROPS or other surprises can end our best-laid seat planning. Flying in a windowless 'window' seat is one of my all-time hated things. I've had a few scrapes with the CR9 row just ahead of the overwing exit. Feels like a coffin.

did you ever get to do the holding pin in the back of an 88 before they pulled the aft galleys?
or the back of a DC9?
