Seating Help
 
I am scheduled to fly tomorrow ATL-JFK on a 757. Delta however thinks it's funny and keeps switching the seating configuration (first time in my many years of flying with them). I was originally in a window seat from the booking to last night (between booking and last night there were two configuration changes, I kept my window seats), last night they switched the configuration again and I ended up in a middle (preferred) seat. I switched again to a window. This morning I go to check in, and they switched the configuration AGAIN, and now I am in a middle seat in front of the emergency exit row that doesn't recline. Am I just complaining for the sake of complaining, or is there anything I can do to at least get an aisle seat?

You could call and ask. There may be seats that are blocked to you that an agent would be willing to open up because of the equipment swap.

DL currently has many different kinds of 757's, because DL and NWA both flew them and each had several different configurations. They are now starting a process to try to streamline them but this will take a while.

Also, when the 24 hour mark hits before you flight, log in right away, as more seats can open up at this time.

Thanks for the advice, I called and got this resolved.

It's worse than that -- there are two different models of the 757, the 200 and 300 and if you go to seat guru dot com you can learn the differences.
