Thanks for the update. and also for stopping by. It is appreciated.

I'll attempt some redemptions to see if my luck has changed...

Thanks for the update!

Am I really going to be the first to ask the award question? :)

With the addition of the 10k award level, is there any way to confirm whether any of the other award levels (in any cabins or markets) are changing, either up or down?

I have mixed reactions to making it easier for people to earn MQDs. When MQDs were introduced, they were supposed to help to thin the herd of upper tier elites. Now DL seems to be changing course on this.

What's confusing though on the DL exception fares webpage it still says exception fares do not earn MQDs???

So, wait...do bulk/consolidator fares earn 100% MQMs if it's DL metal?

If I go to the column that says "MQMs," it reads, "As published at Earn with Delta and Earn with Airline Partners." The link takes me to the DL earnings page, which implies that I'd earn at least 100% MQMs on bulk/consolidator tickets.

The change in course probably has nothing to do with the fact that American didn't institute any of this "elite qualifying dollar" BS plus Delta's unit revenue declines of January and February of this year. Unit revenue falling and large competitors not following along might have helped convince Anderson & Co to tweak the MQD scheme.

Wouldn't that require an Award Chart? Oh, never mind.

It seems early to tweak the program for this year with UA just switching to revenue based earnings on March 1.

Plus, everyone believes that the UA/US program will experience major changes as the merger proceeds.

Increased award availability
When we announced the SkyMiles 2015 program we committed to making more award seats available at the lowest prices and since the start of 2015 we have expanded award availability at the lowest prices by greater than 50%.

Is this the old "lowest prices" or some new "lowest prices" which are a lot higher? It's not like there's an award chart so we can see what those claimed "lowest prices" actually are.

Is this documented someplace?

I may have missed it, but I didn't see any update to the AS earnings - specifically the MQM/MQD sections (if that is what is changing). Can you provide more details on the changes to earning Medallion status when flying AS?

I wonder if the 10,000 one ways will be distance-based like United. 10,000 SkyMiles for flights less than 700 miles. Usually I get the most value out of transcons with my miles but for some of those expensive short hops this could be valuable.

Flights marketed and ticketed by partners may earn MQDs based on a percentage of distance flown as determined by the fare class paid. You can visit www.delta.com/partnerairlines for details by carrier.

Interesting to see the difference of these percentages for SkyTeam members, even within the same tier.

In addition to the MQD changes we’ve also made minor changes to the way you earn Medallion status on Alaska Airlines flights, effective April 1.

And by 'minor', they mean 0 MQDs on AS. Not really surprising.

a very big +1 from me :)

+1 on earning MQDs on partner issued tickets. My biggest gripe with the MQD program was you had to only book on 006 ticket stock when it is often either 1) easier to deal with OALs via their ticket stock; 2) DL doesn't offer the destination (like Brussels MiDi) and 3) it's a JV, they get a piece of the pie so we should get a piece of the MQDs..

Well on this.
