F on Outbound, Y on Inbound. Any way to book at same time?

I'm flying TPA to MSY next moth. The A fares on the outbound are a really good value, but there are V fares on the return which make the P fares not worth it. Is there any way to book into first on the outbound and economy on the return using delta.dumb? If not, will they waive the direct ticket charge to book over the phone? I'd rather not book two one-ways to guard against double fees if I need to cancel.

Other than by phone, the only way I know is to do this:

Not the easiest thing in the word, but it does work for this type of scenario.

Thanks for the tip. I'll try to play around with this.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to get it to work for a few weeks now. YMMV but something change in the way Delta processes it.

Call delta to book the flight. They will waive the fee. If not hang up & try a different agent. Delta.dumb sucks.
