BUY MQMS. EARN MQDS.

Still hoping to reach Diamond, Platinum, Gold, or Silver Medallion® status for 2015? Good news—now through December 31, 2014, you can buy between 2,500 and 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) that will post to your 2014 MQM balance and apply toward your 2015 status.

Even better, dollars spent toward purchasing MQMs will also be credited as Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs – U.S.-based members only), which will be posted to your 2014 MQD balance and will also apply toward your 2015 status.

Want to learn what it means to travel for an entire year with Medallion status? Discover the benefits.

MQMs and MQDs will post to your SkyMiles® account within 24 hours of purchase.

And don’t forget:
  • MQMs purchased will be deposited to your 2014 MQM balance
  • MQMs purchased through this offer are non-refundable
  • Dollars spent toward MQM purchase will apply to your 2014 MQD balance
  • The maximum MQMs that may be purchased for one SkyMiles account for the 2015 Medallion year is 10,000

Don't need to purchase as I do have 2 trips booked that will get me to Diamond--by about 300 miles.
DL seems to be allowing people to purchase MQMs this year just for rollover. People also don't seem to be blocked from buying according to th rules even if the purchased MQMs and MQDs will do nothing to get them to FO or rollover.

Definitely cheaper to pre-pay taxes on my DL Reserve (and pay the 2% fee), and to get 15K MQMs.
As a diamond who will end the year with around 175MQM's and with both a personal and business Delta Platinum Am Ex, I received the same offer.

Be foolish for me to even consider unless my flight activity was going to be way down next year and I really needed the rollover.

I have seen DTW/LAS in confirmed first for as low as $650 which would get me 5,247 MQM's. I'd be better off doing trips to vegas in first class than buying MQM's.

I can't even log into the stupid page.

edit: finally got in.

2500 for $725
5000 for $925
7500 for $1125
10000 for $1325

I was under 50K MQMs until 11/26, and am just now over 50K MQMs. But I will easily requal for Plat without having to buy any MQMs.

Since the money spent counts as MQDs, I guess mbwmbw got his wish.

Buying MQDs is just silly. Get a friend with a paypal account and send him $25K in payments from a DL Plat Amex. That will cost $750 in fees (give or take) and net 35K miles, 10K MQMs, and a MQD waiver. Or do it with a Reserve card and send $30K payments costing around $900 and netting 45K miles, 15K MQMs, and a MQD waiver.

AFAIK, You could always buy them just for rollover, regardless of status level.

As a curiosity, I noticed that I was able to enter the purchase MQMs page using the log in at the top of it with my old PIN rather than using the now "required" password. When I wanted to then go to the rest of my account, I needed to enter the new password.

Yes, but I won't.

My point is that some stupid general member (who got a FF account at least ten days ago and has earned at least one mile) could purchase the maximum number of MQMs and MQDs, but still fail to qualify for any status, therefore not getting any rollover either. It would be a pure donation to DL. Last year this wasn't apparently possible as the personalized offers seemed to protect such people from their own stupidity.

Pretty crazy pricing and I'm certainly not buying, but hey if DL gets somebody to bite then good for them... its essentially all profit.

Silver Medallion
- Not U.S. Hub Captive (main airports - CDG/SDQ)
- Not much DL Activity this year, mostly AF
- Will end up just short of GM, but I would prefer to rollover and get Silver in the first quarter of 2015.

I believe I've got the lowest offer so far:

2,500 - $625.00
5,000 - $825.00
7,500 - $1,025.00
10,000 - $1,225.00

Does the purchase price count toward MQD's?

If Delta can get people to pay this kind of money, then good for them. Also means that keeping the rollover mile policy is place should be safe if people continue buying mqm's.

Did you actually try it as a general member?? I just logged into my wife's account (general member and not close to Silver threshold) and it said she was not eligible to purchase MQM's. So it appears they are following the same policy as last year to prevent the uninformed from buying useless MQM's (as this poor guy did a couple years ago) --

Thankfully, I qualified awhile ago.
Same offer here.

PM (112k MQM in 2014) based in RDU and already hit Diamond MQD and Amex spend requirements.

2,500 - $1,025
5,000 - $1,325
7,500 - $1,775
10,000 - $2,095

I'm about 103,500 MQMs so far with no more than another 10,000 MQMs before EOY. I can't see paying over $2k to get a couple hundred rollover MQMs. Joke of an offer for me!

Isn't anyone biting on the offer to buy 10,000 rollover for $2095? Think of it as a Christmas present.
