DM Benefits!
Hi All,
I just made DM not too long ago, and I have three quick questions (#2 is for my friend who is PM): 1) With the complimentary SC membership, I know that I can access the SC whenever I'm traveling on any DL flight (at departure and while en route). What about upon arrival? And what about ST partner lounges? 2) My friend is a little confused as to the number of Choice Benefits that she (a PM) can pick. She earned PM this year and hasn't picked a Choice Benefit. Now that she's re-qualified for PM for 2015, would she have two choice benefits? That is, one from when she became a newly minted PM (this year) and one for being PM in 2015? 3) Other than the co-terminal SDC, are there any other unpublished DM benefits that you're aware of? :). For example, can I do co-terminal SDS? Thanks, FTers! :) |
You can use SCs on arrival if airport security arrangements permit you to get to the door. If the SC is airside in a different terminal or if you arrive on an international flight, this can be a problem.
It's a full SC membership which includes certain additional lounges but not necessarily partner lounges. However, as SkyTeam ElitePlus, you can use partner lounges on international SkyTeam itineraries (but not generally as arrival lounges). |

You cannot "pre-qualify" for 2016-2017 status until after Jan 1, 2015 due to MQD requirements that have to be met in the qualification year - there are no rollovers. As such - she has ONE PM Choice Benefit to select until she meets the MQM/MQD for 2016 (based on 2015 travel). |
1) Diamonds have an actual Sky Club membership and can thus access Sky Clubs even if not on a Delta flight.
2) Which Sky Clubs are landside? |

Upgrade Certs
I completely blanked out and did not cash in my 2014 DM choice benefits. If I go for the upgrade certs now (only 3 weeks left to the end of the year) will the certs be good through to December 2015? I thought I saw that they are good for 1 year from issuance so I am just wondering if I got that right.
If yes, this may be a good idea for other people in future years to defer cashing in the choice benefits in order to push the lifespan of the certificates further out into the future. |

Accessing SC as DM
Hi all,
I'm a newly minted DM and am still trying to figure out some of the benefits that I get. In terms of SC access, am I allowed access to the SC when I arrive? For example, if I'm flying from SLC to JFK on a redeye and want to shower upon arrival, am I allowed into the SC even though I've arrived at my destination? Thanks all! :) |
Yes, you can access the Sky Clubs upon arrival.

The exception would be when you arrive on an international flight and go through immigration and customs. At that point, typically you don't have access to the airside area of the airport. This would mean that, although the SC would admit you, you cannot get to the door. Note that the SC at SFO is currently land side so no problem there.

For domestic travel, you also can access the club even if you are flying on another airline.
And, you will have reciprocal access to Alaska Board Rooms. But that access may be limited to when you are flying Alaska or DL. Can anyone confirm? |
