Question about SDC
Good morning, flying EWR->ATL->ORD on Sunday (2x the miles of LGA->ORD) and my flight gets in a little later than I would like so i'm thinking about an SDC.
Do I have to fly EWR->ATL->ORD or can I change to a different route? Do i have to fly out of Newark and into O'Hare or would LGA/JFK/MDW be possibilities? Would love to either fly out of LGA since its much closer to home or find a way to do JFK->SLC->ORD |
1) Same fare class has to be available to do a SDC.
2) Has to (in theory) be a valid routing, which I would bet via SLC is not. 3) Only DMs have an unpublished benefit of being allowed to SDC to or from co-terminal airports. What else? |

Doesn't it also have to follow the routing rules for your particular fare?

Thanks for the feedback. So it sounds like I still have to fly out of Newark and would be limited to flying through ATL/CVG/DTW/MSP. There's an EWR->MSP->ORD leg available in my bucket (L) at a more convenient time so i guess i'll try for that the night before i fly.
