I am talking about today!! my flight is on 5/5, 5/11 and 5/25. 4+ hours wasted with DL and KE today... They dont seem to give us any discount on these routes, so why would we accommodate their IT issues? Companies large as DL and KE should have these kinks mostly worked out before launch this on a full scale! I am extremely disappointed. Even DM desk and codeshare desk were commenting how bad things are...

Looks a lot like the chart for Tier 1 partners with first class.

To be fair, the relevant information is buried 15 pages deep in that thread and visitors not following the ins and outs of the JV negotiation would have no way of knowing its actually begun now. Thats why I advocated starting a separate thread now that the JV is live in the other thread - otherwise this information will get tucked away where many forum members wont benefit from it...

Using GUC on KE!
Looks like GUCs can now be used on KE!:
For travel on or after May 1, 2018, SkyMiles Members will receive improved earning and flying benefits when traveling with Korean Air. Members will be able to:
* The marketing carrier is determined by the two letter airline code in the flight number. For example, DL2368 is marketed by Delta and KE35 is marketed by Korean Air.
**The operating carrier for a flight indicates which airline flies the plane. For example, a Korean Air-operated flight means the flight will be on Korean Air aircraft.

Three big questions:
For travel on or after May 1, 2018, SkyMiles Members will receive improved earning and flying benefits when traveling with Korean Air. Members will be able to:
- Earn more miles on Korean Air-marketed* flights.
- Earn Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) and Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) on Korean Air-marketed flights.
- Use Global Upgrade Certificates on Delta-marketed, Korean Air-operated** flights. Global Upgrade Certificates are only available to Diamond Medallion Members through Choice Benefits, a Delta exclusive.

Three big questions:
- What fare class does the UG book into?
- Does ticket need to be issued on DL ticket stock, or can it be on KE ticket stock -- or either?
- Can GUCs be applied to all Y fares? What about J fares?

Sorry, DL marketed Y/B/M fares only --
"Valid on Delta-marketed, Korean Air-operated flights for use globally on Delta's published fares booked in Y or B class to Korean Air's Z class, or booked in M class to Korean Air's O class."

Are there DL codeshare flight numbers available yet for KE operated intraAsia flights? Or do the GUCs just upgrade the TPAC segments?

Plenty! There have been DL flight numbers from ICN to HKG, TPE, OKA, CTS, FUK, BKK, HKT, HAN, SGN, PNH, KUL, CGK, DPS, RGN, SIN, etc. for a while already...And yes, the GUCs can be used worldwide on DL-marketed, KE-operated flights

Well, on the one hand, I'm glad that we can use GUCs. On the other hand, it seems kinda cost prohibitive for at least self-funded flyers like myself: Y, B, and M fares are generally really expensive. For those who have their employers pay for travel, this is really a good turn of events, right? (That is, unless it cannibalizes award travel in J, especially since "O" is what award travel in J books into for KE.)
