Thoughts on Rebooking AF W Class? (due to potential strike)
Delta has posted a travel waiver related to the potential Air France strike. I'm currently booked in W to fly JFK-CDG-ARN during that period, booked as DL codes on 006. I wouldn't mind proactively changing these flights, since waiting until the last minute could mean crappy availability.
I called the DL line, and they said there really isn't a mapping from W to other fare classes. It would most likely rebook into a coach fare, but they couldn't tell me what specific fare class it would book into. I do have some old SWUs, so if it were to book into an upgradable fare class I could take a DL or KL operated flight to AMS and connect there instead.
VS does have W class, but no connectivity onward from LHR. In this scenario, I'd probably pay $300 to fly n/s to ARN on a separate ticket rather than try to do something like JFK/LHR/AMS/ARN.
Thoughts? Has anyone rebooked from a W fare before? TIA for any suggestions...
