This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

During COVID-19, when many international routes are suspended, they can be found on some domestic routes (including Hawai'i):

Regular service through March 2021:
JFK-LAS
JFK-PHX
JFK-SAN
JFK-SEA
JFK-SFO
JFK-SLC
LAX-KOA
SEA-KOA
SEA-OGG

Positioning / one-offs:
SLC-SEA
SLC-LAS
SLC-BOS 4x a week
BOS-LAX
JFK-MEX
JFK-SJU
LAX-HNL

one way to search for these on ITA

This Delta Cargo schedule lists wide body routes by region.

Looks like the A350 is running between LAX and ATL, Sunday only Red-Eye to ATL, Monday evening only return to LAX. Through Sept. 6th

I don’t know the answer but that seat volume could be made up elsewhere across the network. SLC-HNL may be downgauging to a 757 but DL is adding a ton of seat capacity to HNL with the addition of DTW-HNL, which more than covers that seat difference. Aircraft operating LAX/SEA-HNL may be larger too (I’ve seen more 757-300s being added here) plus DL has also added flights to the other islands, particularly out of SEA, which somewhat reduces the need for seats directly to HNL.

DL may also be evaluating demand and determine that demand is down to HNL and thus a 757 on SLC-HNL meets the demand while an A330 would be too much capacity.

I've noticed that DL is being conservative with seat count on a lot of routes. In the past winters, they've routinely used the excess A330s on ATL/DTW to west coast routes. This year they are parking them instead.

I'm booked on an A333 from LAX>ATL early January. Not sure where it's coming to LAX from though.

Just booked onto a 763 PHX-MSP in March. Runs both ways.

Most likely ATL. If not there then CDG/AMS as both are A330 operated.

Apologies, as I'm new to Delta. I recall seeing that flight 1772 was usually a seasonal A330 from PHX to ATL. However, doing some random searches today, I am unable to find that combination of flight or equipment. Does it still exist?

What time of year? DL has A330 slack in winter, but not other times. Also note that DL is very good at matching demand with inventory (meaning right size aircraft).

Elsewhere in this thread, I saw it referenced from November until April. That was last year. But, I had also seen it posted recently online and now I cannot find those references, nor can I find the flights. This flight is set to become my commute soon, in F, so obviously the A330 is a big step up from everything else on the route!

DL 192, the 1025 pm LAX-ATL redeye is a 330-300 on 12/18 and it appears other dates in early Dec that I spot checked.
Currently booked into a C+ C seat, D is open, FG are occupied, 15 open seats up front according to the seat map, but that doesn't mean much.
Booked for 16,000 miles coach LAX-ATL-DCA and immediately upgraded into C+.
But thinking about burning 25,000 AA miles for confirmed FC connection through BNA or IND. DL wants 52,000 miles for FC.

The regular winter SFO-ATL A330 is also not operating this year

I'm in F on Delta 2808 on Sunday, MCO - SLC. This daily 7:30am flight switched from a 752 to a 763 on Tuesday 11/27/18. Will this be internationally configured? Any way to know? This seems an odd routing to put a wide-body on right now. This is actually the slow season at Disney.

It looks like the 0730 departure is being renumbered to DL587 starting Dec. 1? Anyway a test booking shows it as the D1 configuration, and the two domestic birds seem to be flying ATL<->SLC so it's looking good for you.

There's no A333 from ATL>LAX on that day, so most likely it's coming from AMS or CDG as you said!

This is the domestic version of the 763 (i.e., no flatbed in First); there are two of these aircraft left in service.

ATL-PHX (DL 1510) and PHX-ATL (DL 1511) are currently scheduled as 767-300s with flatbeds in March.
