This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

During COVID-19, when many international routes are suspended, they can be found on some domestic routes (including Hawai'i):

Regular service through March 2021:
JFK-LAS
JFK-PHX
JFK-SAN
JFK-SEA
JFK-SFO
JFK-SLC
LAX-KOA
SEA-KOA
SEA-OGG

Positioning / one-offs:
SLC-SEA
SLC-LAS
SLC-BOS 4x a week
BOS-LAX
JFK-MEX
JFK-SJU
LAX-HNL

one way to search for these on ITA

This Delta Cargo schedule lists wide body routes by region.

Looks like the A350 is running between LAX and ATL, Sunday only Red-Eye to ATL, Monday evening only return to LAX. Through Sept. 6th

Edited the wiki to reflect some of the 76W routes to HNL (LAX-HNL service and the JFK-HNL service added for a few weeks over the Christmas holiday period).
I've updated the wiki with a note.

I'll let democracy take over from here. If people really find value in tracking domestic 767s, I won't stop them from doing so.

Are we sure on the JFK-HNL flight with 767? I haven't gone to look them up, but usually this is a DIRECT flight with a change of equipment in LAX to 757.

Edit - Now that I look it up it does appear as a non-stop flight. However I'm betting the flight will be hit with weight restrictions and/or require a fuel stop in LAX depending on the weather. JFK-HNL is about 1000 miles under the max. Good enough if everything is ok, but add some cargo and/or wind/weather and it's going to be a different story.

And it is a DOMESTIC configuration 767 - at least on December 23rd (Flight 240 JFK non-stop to HNL).

Seatmap for 23 Dec for JFK-HNL (DL240) shows the Int'l configuration (1-2-1) layout in FC, albeit, DL is not selling anymore FC tickets on that flight (and seat map shows all FC seats occupied). Wouldn't that indicate it's NOT a domestic 767 but rather an international version?

The domestic config 767-300 (non-ER) lacks the range for non-stop JFK-HNL, and it's not even close.

There are 3 747s operating NRT-ATL on 9/28,29,30 and I cannot find where they are going from ATL.

Could they be retiring those aircraft? Know it's a bit earlier then planned, but still could be the case.

I think with the retirement of the 747's that the 777 will be placed onto one of those routes. Currently the LAX-ATL back on 777 is the result of the plane just not having a place that it needs to be for nearly a day. (Mainly because of the once a day only DL flight to SYD) Otherwise the plane would just sit there with no use for most of the day between flights. Now with the retirements of the 747s they need a 777 on some of those routes, thus they've reworked the 777 rotation. I truly don't understand DL retiring the 747 without new widebodies in production/being delivered, but that's an issue separate from this story.

I see. Since it will not do LAX-ATL anymore (or I guess for now), how do you think they will rotate it? The schedule for the 777 from LAX-SYD has the same times even without the 777 doing LAX-ATL, so I'm wondering what it does during that span; since it arrives to LAX via SYD in the morning and departs at night.

Great idea but there are tons of every day opportunities out there such as the daily JFK to LAX on 763ERs, ATL to SEA, ATL to PDX, both on 763ER's, there are many more but those come off the top of my head.

Well the value is, given a choice would fly wide body of any type. When all your flights domestically are single aisle puddle jumpers, if opportunity is there, it is a change of pace.

Is this a recent option? I ask because for years I have actively researched wide-body options to HNL and I haven't found this before on either DL or elsewhere.
