Domestic Wide-Body Opportunities: The Definitive Thread

This wiki is intended to contain a list of opportunities to fly internationally configured wide-body aircraft within the United States, aside from the usual JFK-LAX/SFO 767s and newer domestic DeltaOne routes. This is a collaborative wiki, not an OP-maintained thread; please contribute by editing the wiki directly as you become aware of regularly scheduled or repositioning flights. Schedules change far more frequently than community members have time to update this wiki; therefore please verify the equipment before purchasing a flight.

During COVID-19, when many international routes are suspended, they can be found on some domestic routes (including Hawai'i):

Regular service through March 2021:
JFK-LAS
JFK-PHX
JFK-SAN
JFK-SEA
JFK-SFO
JFK-SLC
LAX-KOA
SEA-KOA
SEA-OGG

Positioning / one-offs:
SLC-SEA
SLC-LAS
SLC-BOS 4x a week
BOS-LAX
JFK-MEX
JFK-SJU
LAX-HNL

one way to search for these on ITA

This Delta Cargo schedule lists wide body routes by region.

Looks like the A350 is running between LAX and ATL, Sunday only Red-Eye to ATL, Monday evening only return to LAX. Through Sept. 6th

it returns to Atlanta tomorrow as Delta 904. I might book this just for nostalgic reasons. Delta 767's used to be a regular occurrence at LGA.

Indeed, my first Delta 767 was a scheduled 767-200 from FLL to LGA in 1998. Of course back then Delta flew L-1011s regularly into LGA too.

Looks like a 777-200LR headed from ATL to MCO at 2:05pm today, FLT 1058. Change of equipment? Looks like it was supposed to be a 767.

As I posted up thread, this has been a regular occurrence for the past few weeks. Spring break related would be my guess.

Probably. But on a Thursday?

I'm on the flight now. Moved back from my 1:05 as I'm still I'm RIC. Not sure if I'll even make the 2:05! Still at gate. 30min past dep time. Still baggage to load and then deicing.

Ugh.

On upgrade list for two seats so there is hope. Lol

Edit: nope. No luck. But it feels like 32J Econ Comfort has close to the same pitch as 3A did on my first flight, 757-200N

4/7 DTW-LAX 763

4/18 LAX-MSP 763

4/22 MSP-LAX 763

I love old suckers! I remember in 2010 I flew them A LOT on LAX-ATL and even a one off ATL-EWR in 9/2010. I only flew one last year on DTW-LAX and this year I seem to be able to ride on them more often.

Hope DL keeps them around a bit longer as I'm quite bummed UA is retiring 757s that are younger then them.

DL836 - HNL - ATL 747-400 July timeframe

Was just successful in getting my return from HNL moved to a 744 due to schedule changes. I was stunned to see the 744 listed as one of my choices this (flight on 744) is literally on my bucket list, so I really lucked out here.

I don't exactly know how to check (other than searching day-by-day) if this flight is temporary/repositioning or if it is part of long-term schedule. It showed up on at least two different dates in mid-July. The DM agent I spoke with was surprised to see it as an option, so I don't know what to think.

DL836 HNL-ATL. Depart 3:50PM Arrive 6:08AM (+1). Flight time is 8 Hours and 18 Minutes.

I hope this post helps some of you to jump on this as well!
