I think that united offers 10k in PQM for 25k in spending and no threshold bonuses, correct?

The OP should remember that DL miles don't currently expire (until you do), so it could make sense to keep some as an emergency stash.

Fair enough. Thanks, I hadn't really thought of the threshold bonuses, but you are right, they are much more generous on the DL Amex cards than OALs, from what I've seen. I tend to forget about those since I direct most of my CC spending elsewhere.

That's really good to know. I hope rates or ability to book partners doesn't change next year. I'm hoping to book a similar trip in April 2015 for two people to travel in March 2016. Right now I have the miles but not the time to go.
