YTD I'm at $.0818 per MQD for 32K flown and my wife is $.0667 per MQD for 19K flown.

I have 24K MQM booked at about $.068 and she has 5K MQM booked at about $.065.

There are no MR's in these numbers, just regular travel. My number is higher due to a last minute business trip at $.25/MQD but paid for with OPM.

I sure hope for your sake that you're flying on OPM.

With rollover MQM and AMEX waivers, I requalifty as PM for 2015 next week . My wife will requalify as 2015 PM next month with AMEX waiver, rollover and Reserve MQM's.

On the bright side, if your spending remains the same going forward you'll be part of the minority of people who benefit from the 2015 Skymiles changes. So you've got that going for you.

I will be one of those to benefit from the changes.

YTD:
MQM-16,355
MQS-16

I am at $.201 per mile on mine. IF not for two very cheap tickets to MDW my per mile would be higher. I was stunned to get a $125 and $162 round trip ticket to MDW. I fly frequently to BIS and OMA, which are not cheap flights(AVG $675). I am SM and based on MQD's last year and on same pace this year I would achieve PM status and come very close to DM. I also just picked up going to Portland and Seattle beginning next month.

I can't tell from your post - you're aware that nothing has changed with respect to Medallion qualification, right? Earning status is not just based on MQDs, you still need to fly the minimum distance/segments in addition to hitting the spend thresholds. To hit DM, you'll still need to earn 125,000 MQMs or 140 MQSs. And this is not changing next year... the only thing that is changing is how you earn redeemable miles, and at $.201/mile, as cfischer noted, it's not really clear that you'll benefit.

Who is the bottom feeder: Someone flying at the whim of OPM, or someone who intelligently and craftily executes a well-thought and financed plan to achieve status using their own resources, while achieving travel to destinations of their own choosing?

MQMs: 105,817
MQSs: 45
MQDs: $3,214

Snagging 9 international J segments for less than $1800 a pop is actually pretty crafty, but I like you approach as well.

I am fully aware of needing both MQDs along with with MQS or MQM. Last year I finished with $12473 MQDS. Just using SM 7 miles per 87311 miles in 2015 vs my 32,760 in 2013. Per the Deltas calculator my MSP-OMA round trippers will be 5,607 miles vs now at 1250. Since I fly to OMA once a month usually at $801 it gets me 67,284 just in those flights. Adding my other flights will get me to PM and possible DM. PM is more likely. My flights to Chicago that were cheaper are done. Instead it's OMA and BIS with occasional Seattle and Portland,
