The large portion of elbow macaroni with no sauce looks weird to me.

Is PVG-LAX the same planes, IE brand new 777s, as JFK-PVG? I flew this and the AVOD was awesome. PLENTY to watch. Mostly movies.

~Wifi sucks. It logs you off like every 4 minutes. Couldn't figure out why on my iPhone or Macbook Air. I gave up.
~AVOD system is terrible. Movie selection is very sparse, TV selections almsot non-existent. Bring your own entertainment for this flight.
That is the fastest time I have heard of for a transit passenger at PVG! I assume no bus then and not many passengers awaiting security screening.

I have never had problems with Wifi in the new lounge. Old lounges, yes, wifi could be bad, real bad at times.

I actually think MU's AVOD is better than Deltas.

Business Class had its own little MiniBus. There were only about 10 people in the first security line where they scan your passport and take your photo, and 4 in the actual security line upstairs. It was super quick and easy.

IDK what the issue was with the wifi but it was the same way on both my phone and macbook.

Delta's bigger planes have so many movies and tv shows on their AVOD. Unless I was missing something it literally looked like MU had about 1/10th the amount of entertainment on this flight.

Thinking maybe that route doesn't have their brand new Triple-7s. As said flew JFK-PVG and it had as much as Delta and more. Had every Fast and Furious movie. Had a 'classic section'. Plus lots of new releases. Would never run out of stuff to watch.

Plus games.

Yes it is. AFAIK all N. American routes are flown by the new 777 by MU.

SeatGuru shows all four. On the MU site you can see the aircraft type (332, 333, 33E or 33H) to know what it is on the flight and date in question. You can also (usually) see the seatmap on delta.com.

The problem is that aircraft tend to be often changed. I've had 333 changed to 33H only to be changed back to 333.

If you actually checked (tried to book the flight on en.ceair.com) and saw 33H aircraft type, then it was likely subbed out later. Happens often.
1-2-1 on both delta.com and ceair.com. Bait-and-switch.

Come on, it's known on any airline that plane type may change. Especially when one plane still has two rooms three different layouts. Unless they changed their CoC to include guaranteed type of seating there's no bait and switch.

Believe what you want. If it wasn't bait-and-switch we'd see half of last minute swaps be improvements. Never seen one, not one, improvement in equipment in 5.2 million miles.

What is an "improvement" in equipment?

Most of the time you get an equipment swap you're going to get a smaller plane. The reasons for this are pretty obvious, flights are more likely to be significantly undersold than so massively oversold that a larger plane would make sense, since there are internal limits on how many seats any given flight will be oversold by.

Are you seriously suggesting that an airline would schedule a flight with one type of plane knowing in advance that they were going to yank it at the last second and put an old beater on the route? What would be the purpose of this? 99% of people don't pay any attention to what plane they are booking, much less what particular seating plan etc.

For example an improvement would be a change from non-lay flats to lay flats.

Yes. I selected the route and time I did because the plane had lay flats. I would have selected a different carrier/times/connection if it offered lay flats but China Eastern didn't. I can't help if other people are so oblivious.

Why you personally selected it doesn't have anything to do with whether or not it was intentionally planned in advance.

I had a D1 TCON go from a 26J 763 to 36J 763 due to MX, which was especially nice because I had been on the bubble for the RUC upgrade.

Without invoking MX I had JFK-ATL go from an MD-xx to the D1-configured 763.
