Virgin Atlantic Codeshare Question

If I want to purchase premium Y seats on virgin, can I do this on Delta ticket stock? If I buy directly from VA, I won't earn MQM's right? Is there any way to upgrade with miles from Y to Prem. Y? (upgrade a purchased 006 ticket).

Thanks

You can purchase VS (Virgin Atlantic is VS, not VA) premium economy seats on delta.com and earn MQM and MQD. Search for W fares. You might also try searching for B fares if you need a domestic DL flight to connect to VS. That may give you a lower fare on the domestic portion, which lowers the overall ticket price.

Great info, thanks! And wow, searching for a B fare made the ticket almost $1K less than W.

Yes, I discovered that just by chance, when I was booking last fall. In my case the ticket ended up booking as a Y fare on the domestic portion, with an upgrade to the F cabin at the time of booking.

And, of course, you'll get 150% MQM. I don't know how the MQD work out as that was not yet in effect when I flew VS.

Yes, this also booked into Y so I imagine that an upgrade would be almost guaranteed.
