Using actual city populations is much less useful than using metro area populations to evaluate potential air travel demand (which you hint at, to be fair). That's why DL operates nearly 1,000 flights from ATL even though Atlanta is technically only the 40th-biggest city in the country.

Back on topic: Glad to see the expansion train keep on keepin' on out in LAX, although I was hoping one or more of YVR/DEN/HOU/CHI/WAS would be next.
