Best seat on 737-900ER?

10D is a closet, so I would pick 10A. Assuming the option was 11D, I would still pick 10A as 11D has restricted legroom and is very uncomfortable. 10A has lots of legroom and is actually a good seat. If it turns out you are on a 738 rather than a 739, which has 10A and 10D, they are interchangeable in terms of legroom (lots of it!) and so the choice comes down to if you prefer aisle or window.
I am definitely on 737-900ER.

No brainer, pick 10A. I also would add that 10B and 10C are reserved for handicapped pax and are assigned at the gate. You can select 10A and at the gate ask if 10C is available, and ask to be switched into it.

I avoid the 739 like the plague, but occasionally its unavoidable.

I'm 6'4, a doughnut shy of 270 and I similarly avoid 739s; it's a torture chamber except maybe the first exit row. Even then, all 73s are narrower than all A319/320/321s and it's most apparent in the difference between the 73 and the Airbii's exit row seats.

I sat in 11D yesterday SMF-ATL. Great leg room, and shared overhead bin over the closet with the FAs. Would sit in this seat again.

I'm curious about how the exit rows are set up on the 737-900ER. I'm taking a redeye (SFO-CVG) in a few weeks and would prefer a window seat to lean against the side - so 19 or 21 A/F; lack of recline isn't a problem for me. But I'm mostly wondering whether: (1) there's an armrest on the window side of the seats, and (2) are there regular armrests between seats that can be lifted up, or are tray tables in the armrests?
(I ask because I've only sat in DL exit rows on 717s, where the window seat doesn't have a window-side armrest, and the exit rows don't have tray tables folding down from the seats in front of them.)

Have a similar question to the poster above - need to fly DL unexpectedly and I have access to preferred seats. Seatguru and DL.com seem to indicate different things about 21BC + 21 DE - while they are technically exit row, am I correct to assume they don't have extra legroom as per seatguru? My other option for extra legroom is 19A or 19C so seems like 19C would be the best choice if that's correct about row 21.

21BC/DE definitely have a bit of extra room. But it is much less than 19C. I believe 19C is about 37-38" of pitch. 21BC/DE probably have 32-33" of pitch (so not quite C+) - although no one can recline into you which is a plus. 21A/F obviously have nearly unlimited pitch.
Row 20 should obviously be avoided; it has less pitch than most standard seats and the seat itself is narrower.
