Tough DM upgrade start to the year
It's been a rough start for upgrades this year - as a DM, RTs out of ATL to DAB, MCO, ORF, GSO, RDU - so far 4 out of 10, most on cheap fares. Hope things improve when March hits.

Tough DM upgrade start to the year
So if you're DM or PM and way down on the upgrade list, doesn't that mean you got a good price for your tickets? When I'm in this situation I think about the hundreds of dollars that I saved?

RDU, hardly a non-busy airport. 16 daily flights a day to/from ATL, not including the 60+ total daily flights they have out of RDU. I've seen, especially Monday mornings and Thursday nights, lists creep past 70 people. Dunno how many people were DMs, but I barely made an upgrade on a M fare.

Upgrades? So far this year, out of two domestic and one international trip, this is my record:
WX return flight cancelled, rebooked, rebooked, Vipered (offloaded automatically by DL's computer). rebooked, delayed about six hours and twenty minutes so that we landed at about 2:30 am.
Inbound MX, delayed over three hours. (My outbound segment was about a hour late but so what.)
TPAC delayed over six hours due to MX on inbound aircraft (after a MX diversion a day earlier), had to run for rebooked connection which was over an hour late in the end.
It would be nice to just worry about those upgrades, although I was in FC or BE on every segment. However, in DL's defense, part of exhibit A was keeping the SC open about five additional hours until the flight boarded.
In some ways, 2014 has not been a good year for my travel so far. About sixteen hours of delay on the returns of only three trips seems pretty bad, especially since MSP weather was not a factor in any of these.
Maybe CNY will improve the situation as I think horses can gallop pretty fast.
