DL Travel vouchers don't count towards MQDs
 
So I just found out this morning as I was booking a trip to Boston that the delta travel vouchers will not count towards the MQD requirement.

What kind of vouchers did you use?

Does the form of payment used to purchase a ticket affect Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) earned?

The majority of payment forms on eligible tickets, including Delta travel vouchers, count toward earning MQDs.

However, please note that only the portion of the base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges paid in currency for BusinessElite®, First or Business Class tickets purchased through Pay with Miles is eligible for earning MQDs. Miles will count toward base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges before taxes and fees. Therefore, the portion of a ticket paid for in miles does not count toward earning MQDs.

What are you basing this on as Delta.com clearly says "The majority of payment forms on eligible tickets, including Delta travel vouchers, count toward earning MQDs?"

Just took a trip to MCT this past weekend that was paid for with an VDB e-voucher and received MQD's for the flights. I wouldn't take the MQD number on the booking page as gospel.

That's reassuring - because I am looking at a page right now that tells me I will earn 115 MQDs on a $500 airfare after using a $300 VDB voucher.

If I use "Pay with Miles", is there a way to specify that the miles ONLY be used to pay for taxes and fees, not for the base fare or carrier-imposed fees and charges?

Doesn't look like it - see the specific clause in the boxed quote in post 2.
