Wow only just discovered this. So I am a DM and SkyClub member (paid for it before I became DM). I travel to MAN regularly and have had access to the Escape Lounge for the last couple of years. This looks like it means no more. But there is a Virgin Lounge there IIRC.

The key word here is third-party operated. From my interpretation, what this means is, taking Zurich (ZRH) for example, you would no longer have access after May 1, 2014 to the Panorama Lounge but still have access to the Air France Lounge.

In other words, all lounges operated by a non-SkyTeam airline or in connection with the respective airport authority itself would no longer be accessible. http://www.skyteam.com/en/Why-SkyTea...Lounge-Finder/

So there is an Air France lounge in MAN so I should have access to that though?

From my interpretation, yes.

EDIT: The Air France Lounge in MAN appears to be the T2 Escape Lounge. Now I'm not sure if you would still be eligible, as it's not technically an Air France Lounge itself, especially as Air France even refers to it as

Third-party lounges (lounge made available by the airport or another company)

Ditto with Frankfurt which is an Air France Lounge yet is listed as a 3rd party now.

The Air France Lounge is in the Schengen zone. If you are flying DL to JFK/ATL/DTW you got to use the "Sky Lounge" -- which is a 3rd party lounge so I guess no longer available to us ST E+

Last time I was in ZRH I used the Air France lounge but ZRH is listed as "3rd Party" so I don't know what is going on there.

BRU used the BA Lounge, so no more.

DUS used to use the Air France Lounge (but that may have been PMNW) but last time I flew from there (Oct 2012) I seem to remember a contract lounge. I remember the AF lunge was a long way front the gates.

If it is really true that we cannot use the LRH "SkyTeam" Lounge then DL really is giving a one finger salute to SkyTeam. That just leaves AMS and CDG (and FCO?) as places in Europe that Delta services that we will have lounge access. :td:

I would still try to get in. It will take time to communicate this to every lounge employee.

I will.I'll post the result...

Per the link posted by the OP, the changes to "third-party" lounge access don't take effect until 01 May 2014. You should be fine for Wednesday.

Thanks, missed that.

This is bad news for me!!! As someone who flies the LAX-SYD route regularly, I'll miss the Air New Zealand lounge access in Sydney for Skyteam Elite+ after May 1, 2014.

Now, what's happening to the Skyteam lounge at Sydney, I wonder? No news for almost a year after its announcement.

I do that route too. The NZ lounge is nice. :(

That is because we currently have access to the Panorama Lounge as well. Again, from my interpretation, you would no longer have access after May 1, 2014 to the Panorama Lounge but still have access to the Air France Lounge, especially as it is a full-fledged Air France Lounge.

I assume you are referring to London-Heathrow (LHR). From my interpretation, the reason it is on the list is because we currently have access to the No 1 Traveller lounge as well, which is operated in connection with the airport authority. This will no longer be the case after May 1, 2014. http://www.heathrowairport.com/heath...lities/lounges

Out of curiosity, I googled and found the following news article, which states that the new Skyteam lounge is pushed back to the 1st half of 2014. I just flew SYD-LAX earlier this month and my next trip is June 2014. Didn't realize that it would be my last Air NZ lounge access unless I fly business. Hopefully, the new Skyteam lounge will be ready when I fly this June :)

Lounge access on intl travel is probably the #1 benefit which kept me a DL elite. With that benefit being dis-enhanced, moving the bulk of my travel to the new AA/US is looking more and more likely.

This. Not cool Delta, not cool.

Oh, and Mn. is not a standard abbreviation for Minnesota. Try MN or Minn.

But stay classy with the regional insults.

Speaking of literacy...

Minneapolis, MN 3 1.5 1 2 2
Atlanta, GA 5 6 8 3.5 4

That is bad news. Sounds like only Skyteam hub airport can possible.

There goes the TIAT lounge in HND with the nice view of the runway... :(

Luckily, my Japanese Amex card can get me into the same lounge, but CC access only allows for guests to go into the crappier room, which is always crowded and there isn't any notable food available in it.

I wonder if KE will open a lounge there anytime soon... they currently use the JAL Sakura Lounge.

Asmara Jan 11, 2014 7:56 pm

This is terrible for Africa travel. Looks like lounge access will also be denied in Entebbe and Monrovia (both local) and Addis Ababa (used to have access to Ethiopian Sheba Lounge). None of these are are actually on their list, but are all locally operated.

Delta has been hyping their non-stops to Accra and Monrovia. Last year they even bragged about installing $1 million dollar gates there.

Terrible! And even if I fly locally on Kenyan Airways for access, I'll only earn 25% MQMs.

Very disappointing.
