Yeah...I'm sure that's right over the horizon.

This is a real disappointment. I don't get too worked up over many of the Delta devaluations, but this one seems like nothing more than a middle finger to Delta's elites. In a time of record profits, to make what is a not-even-veiled profit grab is very disappointing. I hope they'll reconsider this, but it hits such a limited number of people, I doubt the outcry will be loud enough.

Some clarification as to what constitutes a third-party lounge would be helpful. Dubai is on the list. I've used the Dubai lounges a number of times. One is the KLM lounge and the other is the Air France lounge. Are these not Skyteam lounges?

BCN is also on the list no longer allowing economy Skyteam Plus+ members. Note that BCN shows up on the SkyTeam lounge page, but note the fine print at the bottom of the page pasted in bold below. I do believe these lounges are '3rd party' just by their names.

Note that HKG doesn't have a Skyteam lounge per this site.

Note: Some lounges displayed by the Lounge Finder might not be accessible to you; eligibility will be checked at the entrance to the lounge by the employee in charge.

The SkyTeam website lists the LHR lounge as open to the Skyteam Elite Plus travelers. It is called the Skyteam Lounge. How can Delta now say it is a third party one? Maybe the write up on the website is bad?

Ditto with Frankfurt which is an Air France Lounge yet is listed as a 3rd party now.

Bummer. I am heading there on Wednesday. And I last week received my SC card now valid until October 2015! That was a waste of a stamp, Delta.

I would still try to get in. It will take time to communicate this to every lounge employee.

I recently flew DL to/from Singapore...

The DL flight from Singapore to NRT leaves at 6 am...the ticket counter opens at 3 am. To make that flight, depending on where you start within Singapore, you have to wake up pretty early in the morning...

As a PM traveling in Y...I was very thankful to have access to the lounge at 4:30 am...but that will be gone.

Even in Changi (one of the BEST airports in the world) there isn't a heck of a lot open at 4:30 am...so lounge access was especially nice!

Thanks for having my back Delta....please remove the knife when I disembark...

Per the link posted by the OP, the changes to "third-party" lounge access don't take effect until 01 May 2014. You should be fine for Wednesday.

Looks like the changes to the web site make it harder to look for clubs which are accessible only with Sky Club membership card. You have to search the individual cities and then filter by Sky Club card. I keep waiting for the demise of international club access with Sky Club membership only.

Wow only just discovered this. So I am a DM and SkyClub member (paid for it before I became DM). I travel to MAN regularly and have had access to the Escape Lounge for the last couple of years. This looks like it means no more. But there is a Virgin Lounge there IIRC.

Air France Lounge is in the EU side, for the Intl side heading to the US they use Japan Airlines Lounge. But it's been almost 2 years since I have been in Frankfurt.

Effective May 1, 2014, all Delta third-party operated international lounges will become Business lounges.
The key word here is third-party operated. From my interpretation, what this means is, taking Zurich (ZRH) for example, you would no longer have access after May 1, 2014 to the Panorama Lounge but still have access to the Air France Lounge.

Or taking Beijing (PEK) for example, you would no longer have access after May 1, 2014 to the Air China Business Class Lounge, the BGS Premier Lounge, or the Air China First Class Lounge, but still have access to the CSA Sky Pearl Club, the China Eastern Domestic First Class Lounge, and the China Eastern Domestic Apron Lounge.

In other words, all lounges operated by a non-SkyTeam airline or in connection with the respective airport authority itself would no longer be accessible. http://www.skyteam.com/en/Why-SkyTea...Lounge-Finder/
