2013 - Will Delta Sell Medallion Qualifcation Miles (MQM)? The Definitive Thread

I think it would be in Delta's best interest to sell more than the standard 10k max in MQMs this year as it will mean more revenue for 2014, with people either spending more to meet MQD qualifications and/or Amex card sign ups.

Looks like it was announced on 11/15/2012... What is the date today?
IIRC you could buy MQMs last year through January but I think they still applied as 2012 earnings for 2013 status (or rolled over).

United is offering miles for Haiyan donations. Not quite so generous but still nice.

But they aren't EQM's so won't help for status but still a nice gesture. I know United has done that in the past with other disasters.

Hilton is offering 10 points for every dollar donated and they have done that as well in the past for other disaster relief funds. Nice way to help encourage people to donate.

Nothing I can provide you to prove it, no. When it is announced, that will be evidence.

Also, as you likely already know, it's logical for them to do so. It's been hugely successful the last two years and it gives agents one place to point those who are falling short of qualification.

47k would be expensive, DM worth that much more than PM?

IIRC they've always limited this to 10k MQMs.

In some years, people were able to get a few more MQMs than this by also purchasing a SkyClub membership, perhaps giving to certain charities, but nowhere near 47,000 MQMs.

However, US has been letting folks buy status while AA makes offers to buy back status to what it was last year.

2013 - Will Delta Sell Medallion Qualifcation Miles (MQM)? The Definitive Thread

Hoping it is soon. If you search the delta website for purchase MQM the first link is to a page called Buy MQM; unfortunately it is just blank at the moment. Guessing this may be a sign it will go live soon? Or just standard Delta IT...

I believe that is last years link, a I noticed it previously but it takes me to a page that's formatted just like last years Buy MQM page - and it appears to be similar to the old website layout.

If someone is willing to help, I am only short by ~15 K miles. Can't do mileage run, too long for me. Else I guess I can live with the lower tier .
