When did DL start flying SEA-ANC?
DL flew SEA-ANC this past summer but right now it isn't on the schedule. Probably won't be until summer again.

Booking by Dec 31 is going to be tough as I fly this route 2-3 times a month but don't buy that far out.

It must be a summer seasonal flight, probably starting June 1.

At the latest, it's starting on June 30th, since my flight SEA-ANC that day is a DL 2000-level flight number (i.e. not a 9000-level AS codeshare).

To me looks and sounds like a blown fight to push and compete against AS.
^^^ You bring up a VERY good point. I wrote a short winded article about this exact thing today for my website on Upgrd.com . Long story short. Delta has gone form competing with AS on 5 routes to 11 in less than 1 year from seattle, and added competition on several other AS routes.

The only problem with Delta offering double MQM is they are not nearly as valuable as they used to me. If you don't spent $10k you'll still not be platinum! Gotta love the MQD

Hence this promo is silly. How can I book something that isn't even official yet.

And what about TATL? I would love to see AMS/CDG-SEA included.

Exactly my thoughts when I read about this promo. Unless you plan to also spend $25K on a DL Amex card, mileage running to get status on DL doesn't make a lot of sense any more, even with double MQM promotions. Perhaps as a way to push you over the top if you've already met the MQD requirement, but otherwise no.

The problem is that one has to buy before the end of 2013 for the double MQM. That would be a long time planning, buying by December 2013 to fly in May 2014. I'm a bit disappointed here. First time I was eligible for a Delta promotion in many years

Since the promo is targeted at competing AS flights, if and when AS starts to fly TATL, you'll get your wish.

Exciting!

$350 MQD's for this flight (after taxes).

I'll only need $12,150 more in MQD's and I'll be Diamond! (assuming I have the MQM's, of course)

I have been flying PHL-SEA-ANC-BRW for most of the summer and fall on AS with my credit going to SM. I thought I could use the new promo on the SEA-ANC leg to get closer to Diamond. Tried to make some resv. for Dec. 2013 and found , like others, that there are no DL flights SEA-ANC until mid year 2014. Spent over an hour with three DL reps. No help. Sent an email to Delta.com and here is their response.....

Thank you for contacting us.

I am truly sorry for your frustration with the 2013 Seattle Double Miles
and Double MQM promotion.

While it is true that our 2 new seasonal flights from Seattle to
Anchorage do not begin until June, these flights are within the travel
period for this promotion. Please know I will be sharing your feedback
with our Marketing and Promotions leadership team for review.

Please accept our apology for the unfavorable impression you received in
this instance. We appreciate your selection of Delta and will always
consider it a privilege to be of service.

Sincerely,
Name removed to protect the innocent... LOL

What did you expect? DL's is a seasonal flight starting in June.

You just need to make your reservations before 12/31/13 for your flights in June 2014 on DL and you'll get the double MQM's.

This is true. Of course, that will be pushing for Asia flights if they give double MQMs for NRT, and HKG. Just day-dreaming.
