Hawaii sell FC at gate before or after SWU
On Hawaii flights does anyone know if FC is sold at the gate before or after SWUs are cleared? When do they start selling FC seats and is the cost fixed or does it go down closer to boarding? Last question is there any priority for selling the seats based on ticket class or status?
Thanks, Bob

As noted above, SWUs should clear first. However, I nearly had an issue with this back in January on KOA-LAX, about which I posted here. Depending on your perspective (whether you are trying for SWU or paid gate upgrade), this could be good or bad.

Thanks for the info. I'm waitlisted for a SWU but it's not looking good. It's 3 weeks out and FC is almost sold out. My wife is already in FC. Since it's a 767 with BE seating, I would probably be willing to pay a reasonable amount but the last time I checked they wanted about $1000.

Cost is based purely on distance. See http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...l-changes.html

I am curious as to how this actually works from a policy standpoint. For example, DL sells upgrades at check-in on these flights, and these upgrades are confirmed at that time, not at the gate. Does this mean that they clear the SWU first prior to making any of these offers? I would hope the answer is yes...
