Award tix to China
 

I have a bunch of otherwise unusable (OK difficult to use) Delta miles and I am wondering whether anyone can give me an idea of availability of low mileage award seats in business class to China (from LAX) on Delta's many partner airlines that fly to that region. Anyone have success or great difficulty?

CZ A380 to CAN (Guangzhou, China) is probably your best bet
KE A380 to ICN (Seoul, Korea) and then ICN to any number of locations in the mainland would work.

Both have pretty good availability depending on your flexibility, but CZ comes with YQ fuel surcharge while KE has no extra fees.

KE has blackout dates, imposed by DL, that cover about five months of the year.

CZ does as well, but they aren't published and seem to be random and often geared around Chinese holidays. OP never mentioned dates, so I thought I would throw 2 of the better partners there.

I have encountered blackout dates from KE in the past but did fly home from New Zealand on KE -- very nice Business Class.

There's pretty good BE award availability on the DL LAX-HND flights too, but it isn't true TPAC BE service, although IIRC the route is now being flown with the 777, so you do get flat beds and aisle access rather than recliners. I don't know how SkyTeam connections into China from HND would be.
