ALL Delta West Coast Shuttle Passengers Can Use Sky Priority Security Line
With 14 flights per day, this might thicken the herd quite a bit at the Sky Priority security lines at SFO and LAX.

I wonder if this will also apply to connecting passengers, e.g., SFO-LAX-XXX?

Ya, here's the quote from your link to DL.com . . . .
"Delta Shuttle customers check in at their own exclusive Shuttle check-in and bag-drop counter and all customers speed through security using the Sky Priority security line."
Wonderful.
edited to add . . . .
It says - the SkyPriority security line, but NOT the SkyPriority boarding line.

Very nice. This is something clearly aimed at taking away market share from WN, given what can be horrid lines for TSA at Terminal 1.
Whether it will succeed or not is another question given the traditional dominance of WN and UA on this route, but a true "Shuttle" product as this seems to be might just work. Free good beer and wine won't hurt business either. Just a shame that the notion of offering something a little different and better for this didn't extend to the Sky Clubs.

Wow...elite benefits degraded again in order to increase market share on the west coast shuttle. The elite security lines can be quite lengthy at LAX already, don't need several hundred more people a day contributing to that congestion!

On the other issue, you can bet your last dollar they will allow more people in the line if it significantly increases the market share. What would you do if it was your business to run?

Delta is free to run the airline however they like. But they should go ahead remove the benefit from the Medallion program since it is no longer an exclusive benefit. The majority of us here don't enjoy seeing the benefits we once enjoyed being eliminated.

AS has allowed its SEA-PDX/GEG shuttle passengers to use the premium/priority security lines for many years and still lists priority security as a benefit for its mid and top tier elites.

I mean, they do say that you can check in 30 minutes before departure; funneling shuttle passengers through the SkyPriority security would facilitate that perk.

Ok. I'm just arguing the position that this isn't an elite benefit anymore if regular customers are now being given this service. Delta offers a lot of shuttle type services such as ATL-LGA,DCA,ORD,MCO,FLL,LAX. They might as well allow those customers the use of Sky Priority services as well. If Delta wants a dedicated "shuttle" experience then they should run it out of dedicated commuter terminals like they have at LGA and SAN.

Granted it has only been less than a dozen times but I have never waited for more than 1 minute at LAX.

THe problem at some airports (LAX and FLL come to mind) there is no separate PreCheck lane -- you get in the SkyPriority lane and when you reach the front of that you are PreChecked and can go off to the PreCheck scanner. If the SkyPriority lane backs up, PreCheck doesn't help you.
