I recently flew on SQ (Asian Route) - I was happily surprised to see Economy Class passengers were given Givenchy pouch with socks and eye shade. ^

Wouldn't it be nice for Delta to consider this for coach passengers on International Routes? "Best in the Class".

Sure it would be nice. But the trend on DL is clearly in the opposite direction.

Who needs that stuff anyway

They used to give out masks and earplugs in Y -- my first TATL DL flight was ATL-PRG in 2009 and it surprised me. On the return we got fresh Czech Pilsener Urquell -- still my high water mark for good beer on an airplane :)

If they could find a way to make the "one and a half" cent luxury earphones they pass out to Y pax any cheaper, they would!

Uhm, it costs money - ?!??! I guess you would be willing to pay another $50 per ticket for those stupid socks? Not me... I'm quite happy to bring my own.

No doubt all DL intl Y pax would agree with you but they are moving in a different direction. According to the latest airlines earnings reports, DL reported .80/sh while SQ was only .09/sh. This should answer your question.

I remember DL doing on this on flights to Brazil. Well, kind of. It was a small paper bag that said "Something for the long haul" on it. Included was an eyemask and earplugs.

I recieved an eye mask and ear plugs in economy comfort on both JFK-NRT and NRT-HNL in July.
