Fire or training exercise at JFK?

I am in the DL skyclub and I see a plane on fire on the taxiway in the distance... Any info?

Haven't seen any chatter in the news over the last hour and a half... And they're perhaps the only group more prone to speculation than the DL forum, so my guess is you're right.

The second-most-likely explanation is someone who was pissed off over the latest award redemption devaluation.

There's a fuselage they set on fire for training purposes, located right along Rockaway Blvd, not far from the end of runway 31R. Bet that was it.

So upset that it resulted in spontaneous human combustion, no doubt!

I figured it was training because the fire would be blazing. Then nothing. Then blazing.

Thanks for the replies.

They do fire training almost every day at the facility in the north east corner of the airport.
