Upgrade not requested because of a computer glitch?

I went online to check in for an early morning flight tomorrow and was surprised to not see any upgrade list showing after check-in was completed. Nor was and there an "upgrade requested" showing for my return flight later this week. When I called the Platinum line, I was told that it was a computer glitch and that they can't put me on the list now becuase the glitch is irreversible (???), but that they have put in a note with my reservation and that I could "request an upgrade at the airport" ???? How the h@$#%# is that supoosed to work?!?!? Do GA or Check in people have any control at all over the upgrade process?? On the off chance that i should have gotten the UG, how would I make sure that I get it or get compensated if I don't?

Check in as usual, see the GA and ask to be put on the UG list. Go from there.

Did you book your flight directly from data.com or did you start from an outside site (like kayak) there ate known issues that if you do not start from DL.com your upgrade isn't requested. As far as compensation? The upgrade is free and not guaranteed so doubt you would receive comp.

I booked from the AMEX travel (have to - company policy) but in a year and a half of using the site this has never happened before.

I've had this happen a couple times, but I noticed prior to checking in. I've either called or tweeted and they fixed it with no problem. But maybe they can't once you've checked in? Wouldn't hurt to call back, but a GA should also be able to fix it.

Similar happened to me on (2) bookings I made last week. Neither itinerary had a medallion upgrade request on any segment. First trip is this Thu. I called this morning to have it fixed. Check in isn't for a few days so I hope it hasn't hurt my chances. I was little vexed by this glitch though. I book through Concur and hadn't ever had an issue prior with the upgrade request automatically being set.

I also use Concur and never had this happen until a couple of weeks ago. In my case, though, I had booked an itinerary and had to call to change it; since it was within 24 hours of the original booking, the agent cancelled it and started a new booking from scratch. When she ticketed it, the new reservation was "upgrade eligible" instead of "upgrade requested" and I didn't notice until OLCI, when I tweeted and it was quickly changed back. Luckily, it was JFK-LAX where advance upgrades are never handed out anyway.

Regarding booking through Concur ....
I also book through Concur, but the tickets are purchased by AMEX Business Travel, not Concur.
Have had this happen, rarely, which is why I always go into My Delta and confirm Upgrade Requested is shown.

The new website has done this to me often. It's terrible.

This has happened to me twice since the new fare codes came out. Both times on X fares.
