UG pulled when wx delay?

Last Thursday, Mr. JBJ and I boarded our flight from MSP-PVD and sat next to nice woman in 1A. As soon as we boarded and had PDB in hand, GA came on and said flight was delayed 2 hours due to weather. OK, time to deplane.

when we reboarded, a new pax was in 1A and I wondered what happened to nice woman...then I saw her board and walk to the back. I asked her what happened and she said she lost the upgrade!??

I've never heard or seen this one. Is that possible? It made me think of those that are using the delay/rebook on same flight option to upgrade to FC. If so, that is just wrong. :td:

THe PAX probably showed up late and initially lost the seat, with the weather delay the PAX made it to the fight thus recovered their seat and the other PAX lost the UG. Had this happen but before I had boarded the flight.

If she was NRSA, it would be completely understandable. Do you know for a fact she was on a revenue ticket?

Ah, the weather was in NY/PHL, not MSP, but that is possible. I thought about the NRSA(?) pax situation too and agree that would be appropriate, but if she had the BP for FC (which she did), then I just wouldn't see them pulling it from her.

Not 100% related, but . . . .

Years ago, I was on a US flight HPN/PIT that had to make an emergency landing in PHL due to a hydraulic failure. It was incredibly organized. When we deplaned, we were handed BPs for a flight to PIT directly across the hall that had already boarded and was waiting for us.

As I waited in the jetway, NSRAs (nonrevs) were DEPLANING - and didn't look too happy - to make room for us!
