FWIW, there was already a way to figure out ahead of time if you got Pre-Check by decoding the mobile app scanner with a simple QR reader and knowing where to look, but at least Delta is taking out the middle step.

Don't know if it's been addressed elsewhere, but will JFK T4 have Pre-Check?

On Friday, was told by a TSA agent that it "should", but that he hadn't heard any official confirmation.

Given how often this has come up over the past few months, and that DLCorpNYCGirl (forget actual handle) looks on this forum, perhaps she could address this.

Element of surprise

So much for the element of surprise.

Guess when people realized they could put their boarding pass to a smartphone barcode reader and figured out IATA codeset for security data, that TSA/IATA and airlines had to decide whether to embrace the public knowledge, or scrap the program for lack of affordable encryption.

Given all the options, kinda shocked they took this one, but it goes along with Pissy's goal of less object oriented TSA theater, and more intelligence based risk analysis theater.

Bravo Delta!

Being PM makes you eligible to be enrolled. Global Entry also makes you eligible to be enrolled.

Two questions

Is it Thursday, 4/18, or Friday, 4/19?

Do you have to wait until 12am on 4/18 to check-in and see said indicator for flights on 4/18 or can you check-in on 4/17 and see the indicator?

^ This will be very handy. Granted with GE my success rate is 100%, it will just be nice to have a quick indicator rather than either scanning the barcode and deciphering it myself or just taking my chances. Unfortunately, going to college in Williamsburg means no PreCheck at the local airports, but will be nice for the summers back in ATL.

We hope you like the addition and we look forward to reading your comments.
Since you asked...

I really wish that Delta and the other airlines would push back against these stupid "random, unpredictable screening measures", or better yet lobby Congress to get this disgusting, un-American disease of an agency out of our airports.

I do not agree with your self-threat-assessment. All should be treated as equally innocent unless there is probable cause to indicate otherwise. Identity is not security.

(i miss the 3 beeps )
I was under the impression that if you received Precheck status through Delta due to your status as a PM or DM, you maintained that status even if you dropped to no status the next year. Isn't that the case?

If you fly enough just get GE.
It does. My Pre is still intact as an FO, although after DL modified my secure traveler name it did not work for a few weeks.

....
DL link shows PHL on list.

PreCheck is available in PHL, but not at the DL checkpoint (between Terminal D & E). ... unless there has been a change in the last week.

Have to go to USAir in terminal C

Absolutely...

I am with others in that this will only indicate who can enter the line and hope for three beeps, not tell you whether you hit the lottery...

One downside to this is that I have actually ran into a number of people who qualify for the PreChk, but never went in the line because they were expecting a notation. Now with the notation, I see more people utilizing the line...

On the other hand, it will hopefully filter out the johnny randoms who say they should be Pre, but are not... This happens at MCO pretty often. Perhaps one of the famous TSA leaners will take up the position of policing the Pre line instead of chatting with the ID checker.. This seems to be the common practice for them. Heck, half the time, I have to wake up the screeners when I go through the Pre Line at MCO as they look bored out of their minds...

I will continue to do my own prescreening of my BP to ensure that I am Pre before going to the line. If not, I will jump to the CLEAR line.
