Medallion Effective Dates

Last week, I crossed the 75k MQM threshold this year. On the "My Skymiles" section of DL.dumb, it shows my platinum status effective April 11, 2013 through February 28, 2014.

Shouldn't my status be valid through Feb 28, 2015? MQM's earned this year are for 2014 status which runs though February 2015, correct? Is this just another IT issue, or have I mis-interpreted the MQM rules?

Congratulations.

I should do that Monday April 29th on DL65 MAN-ATL. I will have Plat until Feb 2015. The not as easy challenge is next year. Earning status in 2014 to get status Mar 2015 -Feb 2016.

Same here....crossed 75K last Friday night. Planning on DM this year but highly doubt I can continue that with the MQD requirement. Even PM will be tough despite easily getting 75K non-MR miles per year.

Let's enjoy it while we can I guess!

About 2/3 of my miles are international, and probably 2/3 of those are paid business class, so the MQD shouldn't be a big issue for me. I sympathize though with those who fly 75 or 125k miles on cheap tickets and won't qualify.

Once I hit 75k this week my plan is to stop flying DL as much as possible and/or burn sky pesos. I WILL NOT be forced into playing the MQD game next year risking any rollover.

Especially, since devaluations keep coming (SDC, DEATH POLICY) ain"t gonna miss little old me anyway. But, I will make a statement on my way out.....

Crossed 50K tonight, already have GM, but it also shows Feb 2014 as the expiry. I'm guessing it's IT.

The same questionable information is still there in August. I reached Silver and thought of reaching Gold by the end of the year, but if I could only use my status for two months, it is hardly worth flying Delta!

Have no fear, your status will be good through Feb 2015. They do not update the information until the end of the year. It is like that for everyone and has been so for a number of years.

50K MQM from Jan to Feb 2014

I am Asia Based so still MQM in 2014. I did not fly enough this 2013 to requalify for GM but have 2 BE flights from SIN to EZE roundtrip in Jan and Feb 2014 which will be around above 50K. Do I get renewed GM to Feb 2016 if I fly 50K ++ in the last 2 months of my current GM which is technically 2014 period?

You'll fly the 2 trips while you're still a GM from 2013 (expires 2/28/2014). If they give you 50K+ MQM's, you'll requalify as a GM for 2014 which will give you GM through 2/28/2016. MQD's don't matter since you're non-US based.

Correct except for one oops.

Based on the 2 flts in early 2014, OP will qualify for GM for 2015, not 2014. That's why the OP will have status until the end of 02/2016.

Oh, another oops. It will actually go through 2/29/2016 because it is a leap year.

There is a spot farther down the page that lists your future year medallion status. That section should show your status through Feb 2015.

Oops, since the OP will not have reached 50K MQM's by YE 2013, his 2014 Status will be FO, possibly with some carryover. His 2013 GM status will continue until 2/28/2014. The 50 K MQM he earns in Jan & Feb 2014 will then qualify him for GM for 2014 as well as for the 2015 year.
