Has anyone flown X class on AF?

I keep getting two different versions. AF tells me that all of their flights qualify for 100% MQM, while Delta insists that if the class isn't mentioned on their website, it doesn't qualify for anything.

As a Skymiles member, I am inclined to believe Delta's reps. However, I am curious....

Has anyone flown on Air France X class(paid deeply discounted economy)? If so, who is correct?

Just flew X yesterday...as it'll take a day or two to post, we will see what happens. I'll provide feedback accordingly.

AF X is being used for paid tickets now? It's also an award ticket class, which should pose massive problems for getting any credit for it.

You will not get miles for AF X and V classes. I have had X-class for heavily discounted tickets ex provincial cities (which still cost a fortune).

The only reason I ask is because a few weeks ago I saw a good deal on AF to get to MOW but it was all X class. Couldn't figure out what it was, so I called Air France. They told me it was Economy Classic and I would get Skymiles. Delta agents disagreed.

I'd be interested to see what rwoman comes back with. Maybe there are differences between intra-France flights and simply flying through CDG.

Thank you both for responding. I only even considered it because Aeroflot's MQMs got devalued so drastically and Aeroflot has position itself as a premium airline.

Delta's earning chart is here: http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...ir-france.html

It does not list X class, and it specifically states: "Class Exclusions: If a class is not listed, no miles are earned." so it does not look promising.

For additional details...here is how AF X-class is described on the Flying Blue website:

"X Sub-class used for both accrual & redemption for Economy Europe (Medium Haul) & Domestic (Short Haul) flights."

http://www.flyingblue.com/earn-miles...ir-france.html

As others have stated, it isn't listed on the DL website, so I wouldn't expect SkyMiles accrual.

For DL earning there is no difference if flight is domestic or intl, only fare class does count and I did fly X class via CDG and did not get miles.

I definitely agree with you guys. I came in expecting it to be excluded but was wondering if anyone had actually experienced that class posting to their Skymiles account - either earning 0 miles or the 100%.

Thanks again for responses and research.

I do have experience, and X/V classes post on DL as 0 MQM/0MQS. Since I'm flying on V class quite often now, I am crediting to my FB account just to not waste the 25% mileage each segment earns.

Flew AF (CityJet) in X from AMS-LCY in January. Flight posted to SkyMiles account, but 0 earnings.

are these AF X-class tickets ones bought directly from the airlines or were they bought via brokers or third party sites (like Expedia or whoever else)?

It sounds like AF's X is as bad...no, worse, than the E-class tickets DL is now selling.

Just wait until the end of the fare class realignment. I have a bad feeling we are going to see reduced mileage earning rates for the new fare classes below E, and perhaps greater restrictions. In Europe, it is much more common for deep discount fares to not allow changes or an eCredit for cancellation.

Bought on AF.com. They are indeed worse than E-Class.

Yet we all have the option of purchasing the fare we desire.

"OH the awful E class". Solution - buy the T class and stop bit**ing.
