A330-200 ship numbers are 3351-3361. And pretty sure the A333 will not be a 359-seater after the flat-bed mod.

Sorry about both. For the seat count, I was looking at the wrong number (the total instead of the Y cabin alone).

did I read correctly, the new A330 BE seats will be similar to whats on the 744?

Yes, they will be the Weber/Zodiac Cirrus. However, in Y, the seats will be B/E Aerospace Pinnacle (rather than Weber 5751 like on the 744s) with the Panasonic Eco 9i Integrated Smart Monitors.

I'm sure the answer to this is available elsewhere but what is the timeline?

And what routes will get them first?

The last I read, these two were getting mods and then they will hold off on further A330 mods until the 763s are done. My suspicion is that we'll see the modded A330s doing TPAC service, since DL might be able to quickly be at the point where they can say all TPAC routes have flat beds. I know there's been some discussion of MSP-NRT going A330 occasionally as the 777s start going in for maintenance, so this would be a way to lessen the blow on that route and maybe sell more premium cabin seats on LAX-HND.

I think it's a bit premature to start a "tracking" thread when it's clear that they are only modifying the first ship of each fleet as prototypes and aren't going to be ramping up full-scale mod lines until next fall. But then again, look at the source...

This seems a little harsh - I have seen several requests from others on FT for an A330 tracking thread. Also the 767 tracking thread was started when just the 76Ts were in scope for the change. Nothing wrong with tracking early so people can use Flightaware, etc to see if their A/C might be lie flat.

Agree. I think it will be used between NRT and SIN. It's my understanding that LAX-HND route is required two planes. Am I correct? If so, they need to upgrade at least two A332s for their LAX-HND route.

+1.

BOM-AMS is run with a A332 I think, so definitely interested in flat beds for the night outbound flight!

I respectfully disagree. The A330 is the last of the widebody fleet to get the mods. This has been anticipated for a long time, and it makes for good discussion.

They are going to go ahead and send in one 333 and one 332 into mods, get the STC for it and then start the rest of the fleet in the fall.
absolute latest they will be done is May 2014

+1

I'd really like to know what is the timeline for completion here, and what is the expected pace of progress here.
