functionally it may be similar, but i don't think it's a big stretch of the imagination to think that the DL ones may be higher quality. the bags are a good size to carry small things around in, given they don't fall apart after a month of usage or so.

I'll grant you the shoe horn and polish, though I have to say that shoe polish is pretty far near the bottom of what I want when flying in a premium cabin.

To be fair to UA, theirs don't fall apart either, though they do make for some interesting pyrotechnics if set alight...

I have yet to see a sign, "No lighting the amenity kit on fire."

Looks like a solid C amenity kit. I still think United has one of the most functional F class amenity kits out there, even though it doesn't come in the awesome Rimowa cases that LH/TG have had.

Suggestion to the airlines. For your frequent premium travelers why don't you hand out a really, really nice amenity kit once every year or two that I might actually want to keep and re-use. Who needs dozens of extra amenity kits taking up space under your bathroom counter.

i've started looking into donating them after hearing about other people doing it. i keep one of each (i'm a bit of a hoarder and like to keep an example of each iteration... i would say it's for posterity's sake, but we all know nobody would ever be interested in that ) and actually reuse one or two of them (there's one i keep for traveling and keep a spare set of car stuff for rentals, spare phone cord, cigarette plug usb charger adapter, ezpass tag, audio cord, etc) am reaching out to see if anyone wants them. i read another post somewhere someone was donating them to women's shelters. figure it's a good place to start (for the big bag of hotel toiletries i have too).

ASir France used to include a condom in their "late baggage" kits.
