We are seeing a lot of F9V0s out of FLL where IME it has always been almost unheard of for a DM not to get an upgrade to any destination. It simply appears that the advance upgrades at the window are becoming a thing of the past and you get your FC seat at the airport.

Things could be worse but it is annoying sometimes when you travel with another DM and need to ask around once on board in order to sit together. On occasions when you have the time to mention to the GA that you are together, he/she will get you together if they have the time but that does not always work.

I'm flying FLL-CVG on Monday and this afternoon got the email that my upgrade cleared! I haven't gotten an upgrade this far out in a long time (2 years, maybe more). Maybe things are getting better :)

I am 8 for 10 at 5 day upgrades and 2 for 2 at the gate. One of those I was originally number 11 of 37 for 7 seats and somehow I made it.

What was particularly annoying was Delta's practice of showing V9 inventory a week out from the flight, me then buying a ticket on the flight, then, just before the DM/PM window, showing V0, even though no F seats had been sold and no upgrades had been processed. I'm not sure whether they are still doing that (I no longer subscribe to Expert Flyer), but, in 2011, when I was last a DM, they were.
