stopovers

OK, I've searched and searched. I can't find any info about stopovers on award travel. Can say a trip NYC/SLC have a 3 day stopover in RNO. Or anywhere. If someone can discuss it I'd appreciate it. Or post a link.
thanks.

How about a stopover in SLC on the way to/from Reno?

The stopover must be on a valid routing. I suspect RNO is not on any NYC-SLC routings. However, SLC is likely on a NYC-RNO routing, so you could treat SLC as the stopover and RNO as the destination.

Yes, that would be fine. Is a three day stopover permitted? Or four day?

If a stopover is allowed, it can be as long as you want, subject to the fare validity end date and total maximum length of stay. Anything under 4 hours domestic or 24 hours international counts as a connection, not a stopover.

Stopover rules are determined by the fare rules specific to your routing.
