I got 2 mailers in the past 3 months offering PLT challenge. I took a US challenge instead as US offers the service in the southeast that I need and there are no recip upgrades yet. A colleague got a similar mailer and took them up on the offer. He is GLD w DL so someone at AA over-estimated his spend I think 
It may have to do with prior status at AA as we were both PLT many years ago.
