If DL website doesn't show CZ awards, is it safe to assume DL should charge the same tax & fees as I see on AF? DL website is a major PITA. TIA.
Sadly DL charges fees regardless, this is why it is a PITA that you can't book most partners on DL's website. Call DL, see if they will do a hold (unlikely) and then book it online.

So is Air France pretty much a worthless ST partner for TATL awards? Delta doesn't even show AF flights with 'X' available on EF and available at the low level on AirFrance's website.

I know they've been quirky for a while. Has anyone had luck with phone agents finding flights that should be available?

For example on the AF website I can see BUD-CDG-DTW available at the 25K level which I believe means it should be available to Delta not the "faux" availability, correct? EF doesn't even show the TATL segment as available and of course Delta.com won't either.

Flights on AF metal on AF website are not necessarily available to DL, it has been like this for a couple of years now. We should put this information in wiki, this question is asked pretty often.

I'm looking to book two reward tickets on Aeromexico from MCO to MEX around April 2015. Is there a better way to go about this than the 35,000 Skymile per ticket price listed on the Delta/Alaska websites?

I don't think so.

Trying to put together a LED-PIT flight; ExpertFlyer.com shows the following availability:

AF 4849 0 LED
07/17/14 10:00 AM CDG
07/17/14 11:40 AM 320
Daily
NA / NA J9 C9 D3 I3 Z3 W9 S9 Y9 B9 A9 M9 U9 H9 T9 K9 Q9 L9 E9 N9 R9 V9

AF (DL) 8618 0 CDG
07/17/14 1:30 PM PIT

Su,M,T,Th,F
NA / NA J8 C6 D6 I3 Z0 Y9 B9 M9 U9 K9 H9 L9 Q9 T9 N9 R9 V9

If I'm trying to book the cheapest seat available, which fare class should I be paying attention to? Also, I called Delta and it seems that they don't see this flight as existing AT ALL. What's my best bet here?

Are you trying to book a revenue or award flight? For award flight, looking at revenue booking classes is useless.

DL miles On Saudia

I have a problem booking with DL miles (what's new eh?)

Expertflyer shows D=9
KVS tool shows D=9

However, KVS DL Skyteam and AF Skyteam awards search shows no space.
Some days until Dec 1 show YS=9, but CS is always zero.

The agents are clueless
Does Saudia release only awards at 7 months?
I know (or can infer that D is shared between upgrades and awards)
So is there any other way to look for space or is that it?

As noted in the KVS Tool User Guide, the only recommended Method for SV Partner Award Availability is [Awards/SkyTeam]:

[KVS Availability Tool 7.3.7/Diamond - Awards/SkyTeam/FR-AF]

And for a revenue flight, fare bucket availability without fare rules and married segment availability is useless. One should just search for complete itineraries.

Tried unsuccessfully to redeem for two CZ LAX-CAN-BKK awards later this year (October). Confirmed there was plenty of availability via EF and AF.com in business class but spoke to 3 Delta agents, all of whom appeared highly competent, and they reported seeing no seats available.

Got booked on CI instead on the same route with similar (slightly better) schedule, but was bummed they could not secure the CZ space that seemed to be available as I really do not like the CI J product very much. Are they blocking certain partner award space?

Did you try long sells?

Yes, the middle of my 3 agents tried long selling and even called a help desk but was not seeing any availability. I checked multiple days in either direction, all of which had >2 seats. DL showed no availability for any of them.

Anyone know how Korean Air handles upgrades to elites during blackout peroids? I ask because I'm flying HNL->ICN this Saturday and the 742 is mostly empty up front. I'm on a Y fare, but since the blackout dates are in effect now, I can't upgrade.

I have a feeling they'll likekly fly those seats empty than upgrade elites, but worth a shot to ask if anyone has seen them do something like this in the past?

AF Availability on alaskair.com vs delta.dumb

Looking to book a LHR-ATL roundtrip (mid June-mid Aug)... I can see AF low level awards for return segment on alaskair.com but neither the DL website nor the agent has been able to find them. To top that, the roundtrip on Alaska is pricing at 60k plus approx. $200 taxes but on delta the best I am getting is at 60k / $600 taxes.

Any tips on how to score the flights/taxes showing on Alaska using my skymiles?

PS: Checked past threads but could not find any recent mention of AF availability on alaska versus delta sites. Apologies if I missed something.
