Can you use the $260 and change your flight to a DFW-MCO-NYC flight? You'll have to connect in ATL or MEM, but seems like a better choice if it actually works

P.S. Sidebar moral of the story, you should always book 2 one-ways. NYC-MCO is not a round-trip route and 2 one-ways makes these changes easier/cheaper

Just to make things clear, the reason why I have this emergency trip to DFW is for a job interview. I know that the interview will run until 10:30, and it may go on longer. So the only way I can make it to an outbound flight from JFK at 6:50 is to fly from DFW to LGA.

Despite having grown up in New York, I don't know if I have the same moxy that USFFlyer has to play it cool until the departure date. I will let you guys know what I end up doing....
You just answered your own question with it's a job interview. You dont play games in such circumstance you just pay up so you have no worries. It's one of those cases you dont stress yourself and hope for luck things work out you just get it done.

I just did a coterminal SDC tonite. Was booked JFK-SLC-OAK and SDC to JFK-SFO. Ticket agent at first thought it was not allowed but another agent said PM and DM can now do it. I dont know if they just liked me or if that is official policy, but it got me home 5 hours earlier. Used a SWU for the upgrade as well, and while it took some time, they eventually got it processed and coded correctly.

When you're interviewing it's not the time to plan on something like that happening. You have enough else to worry about.
