As some of you said, the blue light means your plugged in to seat power, and it's WORKING, and the green light on 777, 747 let's me know that your Flat Bed seat is in the proper mode (full upright) for take off or landing.

I bet that is it - rarely have I seen more than one or two on on a flight, and usually none.

Different from the herringbone seats - that light does indeed signify that the seat is in landing configuration. these are on mostly MD80 and some 737 (at least that is where I have noticed them. Not all aircraft seem to have them.

Next time I am in one of them I will have to try it out.

So THAT'S how the flight attendants do it... No wonder they didn't tell OP, would have given away their secret ;)

Or they could use one of these:

On LH F on the 380 it tells the FA that the seat is ready for take off and/or landing. I don't know if it ties into whether the seat belt is fastened.

Thr blue light is on the MD88 FC seats... the light was on when nothing was plugged into the power outlet.

This is what I've been told. I would expect that the other aircraft that have been reconfigured with flat beds might have similar lights, for example the 767-400s, 747s, and redone 767-300s, but I haven't observed the lights on those aircraft.

If the OP really means (domestic) FC seats, I think I've seen some amber lights in the middle of the outside of the metal plate below the aisle armrest. These light up with the escape path lighting, so they're some sort of emergency lights. There are also lights that indicate that someone in the row has used the FA call button, but that little light is usually overhead, on the aisle side of the controls for lights, in aircraft that don't have the light and call button functions in the armrest.

The redone 764 definitely has the lights. However my neighbours light was on and green today although she was in lie flat.

I believe that technically the seat is in "landing configuration" if it is fully flat as well as upright. I know that on the Virgin herringbone seats you are allowed to land while in bed mode.
