I believe that 98** flights are repositioning flights with passengers. (One took me to NYC after Sandy.) Similarly, 99** flights are repositioning flights without passengers.

DL TODAY ONLY has a 757 and a 737-900 on the SFO-LAX route. Atlanta must have read the weather report for 6 inches of rain expected in San Francisco. The fog, rain, SFO runway construction, SFO air traffic control cancelling flights to control flow, as well as limited navigation of the RJ's in times of fog or rain or limited visibility that DL employs on the route makes for a very problematic short hop. I've been doing it for 2 years: very frustrating. There are I belive 4 cancelled DL RJ flights today.

Good to see DL bringing in the big jets to handle the cancellations and inclement weather.

Agreed! We're on a 738 and it's pretty empty but I wouldn't mind seeing them return more mainline flights to this route. Granted, that's doubtful given so much direct competition (AA, UA, VX, WN).

That's why I hate flying to SFO in rainy season, or in the spring and early summer when fog can gum up the works. SJC and OAK make for great alternates because they hardly ever get the delays that SFO gets.

and this is why I'm happy Delta fly's LAX-OAK with CR9s

I think you 738 because the 900s wont be here till next year.

You could try flying to SJC or OAK and taxi to SFO if you HAD to.. I've had DL rebook me to SJC before and then just change my rental agreements when I work with a client there. If its an IRROPS Delta will commonly shuttle bus folks from one to the other.

No need to cab from OAK, you can just take Bart to either SFO proper or downtown SF. Transit should cost some $10 and is both the cheapest and probably the fastest way to either destination.

SJC is a pain, but doable in a pinch (11 to Santa Clara Caltrain, then Caltrain to Millbrae connecting to Bart to SFO, or just stay on the train all the way to downtown). The cab is $140+, but the transit connection is some $10-15.
