another SYD thread...
I'm planning a trip to SYD in Jan.
The dates are pretty firm: I need to arrive Jan 4 (any time) and depart on Jan 12. Routing is ORD - SYD - ORD (or possibly JFK). The company will only reimburse X which is pretty much equal to the back of the bus. But I'd like to do it in J, of course! There are a lot of threads about DL and Virgin - but has anyone had any luck flying other ST carriers and managing to get J via SWU or miles? Thx |

Thx If they reimburse X without a receipt, you could always book an award. Just checked on the outbound. Best I could find was LAX-SYD low on 1/1 getting in 1/3, but you can't get to LAX from ORD for low. Nothing low getting in 1/4 to any of the 3 cities. |
CZ has space LAX-CAN-SYD (with a reasonable connection time in CAN) arriving on the 4th (leaving 2nd) and the return on the 12th. Haven't tried to find ORD-LAX space, but you might be able to get that for cash with your reimbursement.
